It's alive!

Yey! Our garden is up and running in full speed now. We have all sort of veggies growing and we're excited to add some Vander Sys' grown veggies to our dinner menu! :)

H. S. E. C. Dedication Ceremony

Thanks to James, (a friend and co worker of Nick), Nick got to attend the dedication ceremony of the world's first Hybrid Solar Energy Center. They got to see the plant and all the new green things that are taking place in Florida. The governor of Florida Rick Scott was there and spoke at the ceremony. The innovative facility, connects a 75-mega watt solar field with an existing high-efficiency natural gas power plant to reduce fossil fuel usage when the sun is shining (that's enough electricity to power 11,000 homes!). It's also the largest thermal solar plant in the Eastern United States. Pretty cool huh?

The last of the Johnson

The time has come for Grandpa and Grandma Johnson to sell their Johnson Boat. We were sad to hear the news but we were excite to be able to have one last fishing adventure with it. Nick and I took the boat out for a couple of hours and couldn't have asked for a more perfect day! The weather was hot and the skies were clear. Unfortunately, the fishing was not to good, but we were able to catch a few sea trout (which were an inch or two too small to keep) and played around with some lady fish. Our overall time on the water was a good one and we got to go home with some pretty fun memorable fishing adventures with the Johnson! :)
